The Clinician

Hans Hollenbach - A note from the Clinician...

"The universe is full of energy. With the power of intention, we can focus it to create health and beauty." This simple truth reflects one of the core beliefs of Hans-Joachim Hollenbach, founder of "Xenora Horse Empowerment" Classical Training Institute in Acton, Ontario. Born in 1948 in the former East German republic, he completed High school in Frankfurt / Main. During his early career in the aviation business he started to develop a passion for horses and became a recreational rider.

When the opportunity arose it was only natural that he turned his passion for horses into a new career. In 1989 he established a riding school on the Island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea, specializing in Russian sport horses. In 1996 he decided to move his business to Canada. In September of the same year, he founded the International Riding Centre in Breslau, Ontario.

Due to changing circumstances he had to sell his business, however, he stayed with the operation, known as Troika Trakehner Stud as Chief rider and stud manager, where he managed this remarkable stud farm alongside his own operation.

Being a competent classical dressage coach, Hans J. Hollenbach is also a diplomat equine health practioner, certified Stud Manager and registered Reiki Master. With over 20 years of teaching experience, he has coached many riders at different levels. The stud farm stallion regularly participate in dressage competitions and are consistently winning championships at various levels.

His riding and training philosophy have been influenced by the late German Riding Master Helmut Beck-Broichsitter, famous for his commitment to the classical rules of dressage. Inspired by this background, Mr. Hollenbach attended countless seminars around the world with the most respected riding masters to broaden his expertise.

Top trainers like Herbert Rehbein, Walter Zettl, Philippe Karl, to name a few have influenced his teaching and deepened the commitment to the art of classical training. A masterful combination of the German riding principles from 1912 and a combination of the French traditional training of "legerete", make his teaching an extremely efficient synthesis suited to the schooling of modern bred sport horses.

Hans

Hans J. Hollenbach is a member of the "Xenophon" society, a world wide organization committed to the upholding and preservation of the art of classical dressage riding, founded in Germany by concerned trainers, riders, veterinarians and coaches like Klaus Balkenhol, Ingrid Klimke, Dr. Gerd Heuschmann, Anja Behram and Astrid von Felsen-Zerweck. The society is currently chaired by Christine Stueckelberger of Switzerland. This movement is actively supported by the legendary Riding Master Walter Zettl in Canada and by Albrecht von Ziegner in the USA.
